Part 1 of 3
Part 2 of 3
Part 3 of 3
There was simply too much footage to cram into 2:58 so I broke it out into 2 sides much like the cassette tapes of old. Side A has a more cohesive story but Side B has a more unique Bend-flavor. This project was 3 years in the making.
A Heartfelt Thanks to:
- Royce as Cochese. You were the first to commit to being along for the ride. We first waded across the Columbia Street rapids looking for footage and almost lost our metaphysical footings. You played the good guy 100% perfect. Pure good through and through. You gave me the confidence that together we could figure out this video and make a story worth watching.
- Steve as the Chief of Police. You were the first to help me brain storm and take this ridiculous idea seriously… I owe the T-Falls scene to you.
- Damien as Scorch. Before we even started filming together you instantly understood the value of this as a ridiculous enterprise. You help me me extrapolate it beyond Bend as to how communities can make their own Sabotage video. Your creative energy was an incredible add to the video. I looked to you for confidence in completing the most insane scenes. When we were doing the trail run scene and the briefcase fell open with fake cocaine and money there were plenty of people walking the path that day. We were getting a lot of uncomfortable looks. “It’s not what it looks like” you quipped helping everyone relax and be more comfortable. Perfect timing. Numerous times you helped build on a good scene to make it great. The mustache replacing scene, the yellow car torching, the briefcase with the mustache… genius!
- Aaron as Sure Shot. The door axing scene was the most logistically difficult of the entire production. Literally needed a place where we could frame in a fake door and then axe it open… not an easy task. Not only did you say YES but you allowed the most complicated scene (10 actors) to take place in between welding lessons. Every time I saw footage of you in a scene you were stealing it with your enthusiasm and then off screen mopped up the room after we were done and made the Cave shiny for the class that was waiting for us to be done being ridiculous. Pure class act! Simply magnificent!
- Troy… the fact that your dog is literally named Stachey and has a perfect undercover cop ‘stache is amazing. Also you rocked the Lieutenant role and brought order to the complete chaos that was the DIY Cave Raid.
- Ben… Mayor, Watch Dog, and Goof Up Cop. You were indispensible with roles that helped shape the story.
- Kyley… you led the way at the DIY Cave and helped make that scene memorable!
- Gwen… thank you for being Kick Ass and ready to bring the thunder!
- Matt… your commitment to the DIY cave scene was readily apparent. Also I don’t know anyone else that has ever been “torched” in the El Sancho El Camino! What an epic way to go!
- Marnie… love two things: Fish Eye Aerial Media for the drone footage of final battle scene and your passion with the Weird Scientist and Poker Cop. Super fun to have you in the production! Also the drone shot where you fly over the battle and the falls is one of my most fave of the entire shoot.
- Marcus… we knew each other from philosophical meetups at Tim’s house and then we do the most Albert Camus thing possible. Love everything you brought to Bunny!
- CJ at M&J’s!!!!!
- Random people that saw us along the way and gave support.
- Random people that saw us along the way and made us think they were going to call the cops. Especially at Tumalo Falls when we had a briefcase full of fake cocaine and counterfeit money open on the trail. Damien: “It’s not what you think!”
- Random people at the Roundabout that didn’t call the cops on us: we tried to put googly eyes on the statue but they didn’t stick. There were a lot of “what the hell are you doing” type interactions.
- My family for their support over 3 years with this crazy idea and help with filming the DIY Cave and Cocaine Bust (side B).
- Johnny as Elvis… DUDE! I asked you to be lost in the sauce and you nailed it!
- Old Mill Management… thank you for escorting us around and letting us goof off for a few hours.
- River Pig Saloon… thank you for letting us film onsite!
- El Sancho… thanks for letting us film the “tied up cop going to get blown up” scene in the El Camino. Also you were the origin for the entire thing so thanks for having a super great restaurant! The after party will be there.
- Kris… the first responder footage was KEY!
- Dummy… we had a dummy dressed as Scorch that we threw off the Falls 3 times. He was attached to Parachute Cord and so reeling him up each time got heavier and heavier. The 2nd time he lost his shirt so I went all the way around to get it. No littering or environmental destruction of any kind was committed.
